The initial nose brimmed with vapour rubs, cough medicines, sheep wool oils and citronella candles. A soft, easy waxiness with light sooty notes, bandages, talcum powder and white pepper. Superb, charismatic and a great surprise. Water gave a blast of varnished wood, then dusty wine cellars, black tea, heady vanilla soda, aniseed pastis, chopped hazelnuts and wintergreen. The palate was rich and fulsome with lemon jelly, herb-infused olive oil, waxes, TCP and eucalyptus resin. With water, it becomes more mentholated, oily, mineral and showing notes of hessian, bath bombs, struck flints and petrichor.
